Kofi Semenya is an associate in the firm’s Labor and Employment Law Department. Kofi’s practice covers all facets of labor and employment, including representing private clients and municipalities before state/federal courts and administrative agencies, such as the EEOC and OCRC, against claims of discrimination, harassment, retaliation, wrongful termination, leave of absence, and accommodation. Kofi also regularly advises clients on a broad range of employment issues, including hiring, firing, discipline, leave, attendance, performance management, compensation, employee classification, labor relations, harassment, discrimination, personnel policies, and employee handbooks.


Before joining Coolidge Wall, Kofi worked as a law clerk and as an investigator with the OCRC. In that capacity, Kofi gained a strong foundation in workplace discrimination issues.


Kofi received his J.D. from Vanderbilt University Law School. While at Vanderbilt, he competed in the school’s moot court competition and was the winner of the Damali Booker Scholarship Essay Competition. In 2010, Kofi worked for Community Legal Aid in Akron, Ohio, as an Americorps volunteer.
