Chris Conard and Merle Wilberding Featured in Dayton Lawyer Magazine
The summer 2011 issue of the Dayton Lawyer magazine, published by the University of Dayton School of Law, includes an article about the tragic murder of Marine Corps LCpl Maria Lauterbach and her unborn child, Gabriel.
For the past three and one-half years, Chris Conard and Merle Wilberding have represented Maria’s mother, Mary Lauterbach, as she worked through the complexities of the loss of her child and grandchild, the intricacies of military law, and the desire to speak for Maria in urging changes in the treatment of victims of sexual assault in the military. The article featured the work that Chris Conard and Merle Wilberding performed in this case as an illustration of the theme of the University of Dayton Law School: The Lawyer as a Problem Solver.
