Michael Leesman is a member of the Corporate and Business Law Department of Coolidge Wall and focuses his practice in the areas of business transactions, contract drafting and health care law. Mike began his career as an Assistant Attorney General for the State of Ohio where he represented the Ohio Department of Job and Family Services handling various issues and multiple administrative appeals for State benefit programs including Medicaid.

After leaving the Attorney General's Office, Mike worked for several years as in-house counsel for a large, Ohio based physician group that provides services to hospitals in eight states. As in-house counsel, Mike dealt with a majority of the company's new and regularly renewing business arrangements, gaining significant experience in the areas of contract drafting and negotiation. Additionally, Mike's work with the physician group allowed him to gain valuable experience with many health care compliance issues concerning EMTALA, HIPAA, Stark, fraud and abuse, and anti-kickback.
