Coolidge Wall Featured in Ohio History Book

Coolidge Wall has been featured in OHIO – THE BUCKEYE STATE, an illustrated history of the State of Ohio written by Eugene Murdock and Jeffrey Darbeee and published by American Historical Press. Dr. Murdock had served as president of the Ohio Academy of History and as Chairman of the History Department at Marietta College. Jeffrey Darbee, formerly on the staff at the Ohio Historical Society, has worked and written extensively in the areas of historic preservation and architecture.

The three hundred-page book is lavishly illustrated to present ten different stages of Ohio’s development within the history of our country. The Chronicles of Leadership section features profiles of Ohio entrepreneurs who have built on the innovators and inventors “who have made their mark through vision, courage and leadership.”

Coolidge was selected to participate in this project because of its deep historical roots in Dayton and in the State of Ohio. The Coolidge Wall law firm was founded in 1853 as Gunckel & Strong and has operated continuously ever since, changing its name from time to time as generations of lawyers have advanced the practice.

Steve Herbert, President of Coolidge Wall, expressed the great pride and appreciation the firm has in being featured in this historical book, “We are honored to share the history of our law firm in the celebration of the history of Ohio. We believe our deep historical roots have translated to our deep commitment to the future of our community.”

The book is available locally at Books & Co., Barnes & Noble, and other major bookstores.
