Laura L. Wilson’s primary practice area is Labor and Employment law with a special emphasis in providing such support for the public sector. She has extensive experience in the areas of sexual harassment, wrongful discharge, defamation, retaliation, discrimination, and whistleblower actions. In addition, Laura has advised on personnel issues involving the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA), the Age Discrimination in Employment Act of 1967 (ADEA), the Family Medical Leave Act (FMLA), the Fair Labor Standards Act (FLSA), Title VII and state laws regulating employer-employee relations. Laura has assisted with the preparation of collective bargaining agreements, arbitrations and union election issues. She also has experience in workers’ compensation matters.

Prior to joining Coolidge Wall, she served for almost nine years as a Montgomery County Assistant Prosecutor and has extensive litigation experience in that regard. She conducted over 25 criminal jury trials. In addition, she served as the primary labor and employment attorney for Montgomery County and provided day-to-day employment law advice to the county government in connection with the County’s 4,400 employees. She is well versed in all aspects of public sector law relating to labor and employment issues.
