Coolidge Wall Attorneys Present at OTA Winter Conference
Coolidge attorneys Chris Conard and Amy Blankenship were presenters at the 2016 Annual Winter Conference of the Ohio Township Association (OTA) in Columbus. They discussed “The Top 10 Things a Board/Commission Should Never Do.” Chris and Amy provided tips and suggestions to help township officials avoid common pitfalls. The tips included how to build a good record of township meetings and how to meet the requirements of Ohio’s open meeting law.
Chris serves as Chair of the firm’s Municipal Law Department. He and Amy provide general counsel to local governments on a variety of topics, such as employment matters, annexation, land use and zoning.
The Ohio Township Association is a statewide organization dedicated to promoting and preserving township government. Townships encompass unincorporated areas of the state, serving approximately 35 percent of Ohio’s population.
