Scott Liberman brings a deep level of knowledge and experience to his clients across many practice areas that he has acquired throughout his 30+ year legal career.  He has extensive experience in creditor/debtor law with emphasis on collection proceedings, foreclosures, and compliance, which includes compliance with and defense of the Fair Debt Collection Practices Act violations. He has also assisted financial institutions in preparing commercial loan documents and resolving commercial loan issues.

The breadth of Scott's practice reaches across corporate law, transactions, financing, and real estate matters. His real estate experience includes development and construction matters, preparing and enforcing contracts, closings, and litigation issues including fraud, misrepresentation, and breach of contract claims.

Scott represents cities, townships, and villages, and currently serves as the Law Director for the City of Centerville, Ohio. His public law experience includes zoning, Ohio's Public Records Act, Ohio's Sunshine Law, and other important issues facing municipalities. He also advises municipalities on development and various other construction-related matters.

Scott also works with condominium and homeowners’ associations on collection proceedings and provides general legal advice to their boards. He actively serves on the Ohio Legislative Action Committee (LAC) for the Community Associations Institute (CAI), assisting in the creation of new laws pertaining to condominiums and HOAs.

Prior to joining Coolidge, Scott held a variety of law firm leadership roles over the past three decades including Managing Shareholder at Altick and Corwin and serving as the Dayton office’s Partner-in-Charge of Buckley King LPA.

He is currently involved in professional legal organizations, such as the Ohio and Dayton Bar Associations and the Commercial Law League of America.  Scott had also been previously engaged in several community and other non-profit organizations including:

  • Board of Directors: Ohio Legislative Action Committee, Community Associations Institute, Ohio Valley Chapter
  • Member:  Washington Township Board of Zoning Appeals
  • Member: Centerville/Washington Township - Comprehensive Planning and Implementation Committees
  • Board of Directors: Jewish Federation of Greater Dayton
  • Past President and current board member: Beth Abraham Synagogue
  • Strategic Planning Committee Member: The Boy Scouts of America, Miami Valley Council

In addition, Scott has been consistently recognized as an Ohio “Super Lawyer” and was a Dayton Business Journal “40 Under Forty” honoree.
