Overview

Lucas Strakowski is an attorney in Coolidge Wall’s Business Law practice, where he represents small and medium-sized businesses throughout every stage of the business lifecycle. He works with entrepreneurs, closely held businesses and established companies to provide practical legal guidance that supports growth, manages risk and helps clients achieve their long-term business goals.

Lucas advises clients on a wide range of corporate matters, including mergers and acquisitions, business formation, corporate governance, contract drafting and negotiation, and the day-to-day legal issues that arise as businesses grow. He works closely with business owners and leadership teams to develop practical, business-focused solutions tailored to each client’s unique objectives.

Since being admitted to the Ohio Bar in 2022, Lucas has represented businesses in transactions ranging from straightforward asset acquisitions to sophisticated equity sales valued in the eight figures. In addition to mergers and acquisitions, he has drafted and negotiated a broad range of commercial agreements, including employment agreements, master subcontract agreements, intellectual property agreements, privacy policies and technology-related contracts.

Lucas also has experience in appellate advocacy and legal writing. He co-authored an amicus curiae brief before the Iowa Supreme Court addressing the broader impact of consumer credit laws on contractors responding to emergency situations. The Iowa Supreme Court ultimately ruled consistent with the position advanced in the brief. He also authored an article for the Midwest Roofing Contractors Association examining the legal issues presented in the case and their practical implications for contractors. While attending the University of Cincinnati College of Law, Lucas participated in law review, further developing the research, writing and analytical skills that continue to benefit his clients.

Lucas believes effective legal counsel begins with understanding each client’s business objectives. He takes a collaborative, solutions-oriented approach, helping clients navigate both significant transactions and the everyday legal challenges that arise as businesses evolve.

Before entering the legal profession, Lucas earned bachelor’s and master’s degrees in Music Composition. His background in composition fostered the creativity, discipline and attention to detail that continue to shape his thoughtful approach to legal problem-solving.

Outside the office, Lucas enjoys hiking Southwest Ohio’s parks and trails, golfing, playing chess, discovering local restaurants and breweries and spending time with his two cats.

Even if your company is not directly involved in the real estate industry, your place of business — whether purchased or leased — is a critical investment.

As a client, you can expect our corporate and business lawyers to become thoroughly familiar with your business goals and operations.
